It is a joy to welcome you to the website of St. Augustine of Canterbury Church. Though a newly formed parish, we can trace our heritage back to the undivided Catholic Church in England, Ecclesia Anglicana, rooted in the ancient Celtic Church planted in the first century, upon the rock of our faith, our Lord Jesus Christ.

While we celebrate our heritage, we also embrace our mission to express our commitment to Christ through the richness of historical Anglo-Catholic worship, the passing on of the “faith once delivered to the saints” received from Christ himself, and by sharing in Christ's work of reconciliation and healing in the world. That reconciliation is both individual and corporate; transforming the lives of individuals and also pursuing the opportunity for traditional Anglicans to be restored to full communion with the Catholic Church. Our patron, St. Augustine of Canterbury is reflective of that unity initially achieved with Ecclesia Anglicana under his leadership in the 5th century.

The community of St. Augustine of Canterbury, having had the majority of its membership received into the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter, is now a part of the Roman Catholic Church, but will continue to worship in the traditions of its Anglican forefathers.

Currently, the community of St. Augustine of Canterbury worships at Saint Therese Chapel at Cathedral Catholic High School in Del Mar, California. If you are looking for a church home in the San Diego County area, a church that offers God's love and reconciliation with and in the Anglo-Catholic tradition we invite you be a part of our journey in faith.

We offer this site to provide you information about St. Augustine of Canterbury Church and its community. We hope it will be helpful in your search for a home to worship our Lord Jesus Christ. Please explore this site, join us for worship, and contact us if you have questions.
